Integrating NMove with ChatGPT to revolutionize how customers find service stations through natural language queries
Leading the Energy Sector into the AI Era
Nieves Energía, a Spanish energy company with a strong presence in fuel distribution and service stations across Spain and abroad, wanted to take a pioneering step into the world of artificial intelligence. With the rapid evolution of large language models and conversational assistants like ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, and Gemini, we identified a strategic opportunity: to be the first energy company in Spain to offer its services through an AI assistant marketplace.
The main challenge was to integrate real-time data from their fuel stations—including location, available services, prices, and products—into ChatGPT in a seamless, user-friendly way. We wanted users to easily access this information directly from ChatGPT, using natural language queries like “Where is the nearest Nieves Energía station?” or “Show me stations with car wash services near me”.
An MCP Server Connecting Nieves Energía's Data with ChatGPT
GPTApps developed a custom ChatGPT application for Nieves Energía, powered by a Modular Connector Protocol (MCP) server built in Node.js.
This server acts as a real-time bridge between Nieves Energía's internal APIs and ChatGPT, allowing the assistant to access and display up-to-date information about all fuel stations.
Through this integration, users can:
- Find nearby fuel stations based on their current geolocation.
- View detailed station information, including services, products, and fuel prices.
- Open Google Maps directly from ChatGPT for navigation.
- Browse a map or slider view of multiple nearby stations ranked by proximity.
The system currently uses public station data and can be connected manually within a ChatGPT workspace. Future development phases will include extending the app's functionality for business customers, such as balance management, access control, loyalty cards, discounts, and top-ups.
Strategic Positioning and Early Leadership in AI Integration
By collaborating with GPTApps, Nieves Energía successfully positioned itself as a trailblazer in AI integration within the Spanish energy industry.
This prototype enables the company to:
- Gain early visibility in emerging ChatGPT and LLM app marketplaces.
- Explore the potential of conversational AI as a new customer interaction channel.
- Prepare the technical foundation for more advanced integrations with enterprise features and personalized services.
